Wallpaper has always made a wonderful impact on home décor but it’s always been a challenge. Applying wallpaper and removing wallpaper could be a nightmare. Fortunately, today’s new easy-to-hang wallpaper is much easier to work with and will make you want to use it on more than just your walls.
Table Top
If you have an old table with a top that has seen more than its share of wear and tear, rather than refinishing it, cover it with wallpaper and then have glass cut to rest on top. If you love shabby chic decorating, combining this decorative trick with a few others can turn a pair of mismatched, discarded old end tables into treasured works of art.
Behind a Bookshelf
One way to turn a drab old bookshelf into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece is by applying wallpaper to the back wall of the bookcase. If you fill your bookcase with books, the pretty pattern behind will play peek-a-boo from behind the books and add a little visual interest. If your book collection is sparse and you have a lot of knickknacks the wallpaper will take a more prominent position and can make the entire wall seem to come alive.
Backsplash
Create a kitchen backsplash that is incredibly eye catching and easy to clean, but not as “permanent” as a tile backsplash. If you feel like being a little bit more creative with your backsplash, purchase a couple or a few rolls of matching wallpaper and cut them into uniform shapes and put them together on the wall to create our own pattern or mosaic.
Cupboard Doors
Transform old cupboard doors into exciting new cupboards with some wallpaper and paint. If you don’t have cupboard doors with insets then build up the edges around the cupboard by attaching a little molding and painting it in a complementary solid color.
Chair Legs
Straight, round or square chair legs can be wallpapered and bring a new level of excitement to your furniture. Create an exciting ground level contrast by applying the wallpaper to the legs of your couch.
Paper Panel
Covering a large piece of wood with wallpaper is a wonderful way to add a lot of color and excitement to your room and it’s very inexpensive. Prop your wallpaper artistic statement up on an empty wall and watch it brighten the room. Put it behind your bed for an easy headboard. Or hang it on the wall and let it serve as modern art.
These are just a few ways you can use modern wallpaper to add life and excitement to your home. Come up with your own exciting ways to use wallpaper, from large sheets to tiny scraps.
